Press Release
CLdN today announced the start of a multimillion-pound investment in its Brocklebank terminal at the Port of Liverpool. These investments are part of CLdN’s plans to increase capacity on its Liverpool - Dublin route.
The infrastructure upgrades at the terminal will improve the use of space and enhance the flow of cargo movements while a new gate set-up, improved drivers’ facilities and new terminal operating system will increase efficiency and lead to an improved customer experience for dropping off and picking up cargo.
The enhancements to the quayside will also facilitate the use of the terminal by larger, more environmentally friendly ships.
Commenting on the investment Gary Walker, Chief Operating Officer of CLdN RoRo, said:
“These upgrades are part of the CLdN group strategy of investing in its UK port infrastructure and further reducing the carbon footprint of its operations. CLdN is a leading provider of freight services across the Irish Sea and this investment will further improve our service to customers.”
To facilitate the major infrastructure works, CLdN’s operations will be moved temporarily to Gladstone Docks Branch No. 3 for the coming four months.

Customer Notice
At the end of next week (11 August), we will be embarking on a four-month, multimillion-pound investment programme at our Brocklebank terminal in the Port of Liverpool. These investments are part of our plans to increase capacity on the Liverpool - Dublin route.
The infrastructure upgrades at the terminal – which include significant resurfacing and drainage works – will increase the amount of available space and enhance the flow of cargo movements. A new gate set-up, improved drivers' facilities (toilets / showers / vending machines) and new terminal operating system will increase efficiency and security and lead to an improved experience for your drivers in dropping off and picking up cargo.
To facilitate the investment works, CLdN’s operations will be moved temporarily to Gladstone Dock Branch No. 3 (the former P&O site) as from the end of next week. We anticipate that the work will take four months to complete.
Below you will find details of the transition. If you were previously a customer of P&O at Gladstone Dock, the access and delivery / pick-up process are the same.
- Last export check-in at Brocklebank terminal is at 19:00 Sunday 11th August
- The Liverpool-Dublin 20:00 service on Sunday 11th August will depart from Brocklebank Dock
- The Dublin-Liverpool 20:00 service on Sunday 11th August will arrive at Gladstone Dock
- All import trailers need to be cleared from the main Brocklebank facility by Monday 12th at 17:00. So, whilst we will retain use of the West Alex Terminal site, we would appreciate it if you could collect your imports as quickly as possible
