"THE FINNISH STEVEDORE UNION (AKT) ANNOUNCES OVERTIME BAN 1 FEBRUARY AND STRIKE STARTING 15 FEBRUARY

The Finnish Stevedore Union (AKT) declares a ban on overtime for their collective agreement sectors which is set to start on Wednesday 1 February 2023.

This ban on overtime will affect stevedore workers in Helsinki and Turku harbors and therefore Tallink Silja cannot accept handling units on Saturdays and Sundays as long as the ban will continue.

Handling units (units without drivers, trailers, machines, new cars etc) are not accepted on the following departures:

• Fridays Stockholm- Helsinki at 16:45
• Fridays Tallinn-Helsinki at 22:30
• Saturdays all departures
• Sundays all departures. Except Tallinn-Helsinki at 22:30 and Stockholm-Helsinki 16:45 (unloading on Monday morning).

 Tallink Silja’s vessels will operate according to normal timetable and units with drivers can be accepted on all departures.

The Finnish Stevedore Union (AKT) has also declared a strike starting 15 February 2023 at 06:00. The strike will affect stevedore workers in Helsinki and Turku harbors. If the strike starts Tallink Silja cannot accept handling units starting 15 February 2023 in Helsinki nor Turku."
